Export

There are four kinds of export files:
The DAT Backup File is used for saving all the data and restoring it after removing and re-installing the app or transferring it to another device. The app settings are also included in this file.

The CSV Project Lists is a comma-separated file with all the client, project and task names you may wish to transfer to another device.

The CSV Times is a comma-separated file with all the time items you entered for a given client and time period. It may be used to transfer the timing data to a billing program, but it does not conform to any special standard, so you'll have to convert it according to your needs with a desktop calc program.

The QB Timer Activities  is a file with the time items of a given time period that you wish to import into QuickBooks (see here).

If you check Only billable times then only these are exported. If you check Mark as billed the billing status is changed accordingly afterwards. If you check Delete items exported then the items that you are exporting are deleted afterwards.

File Name

The file name is preset, the extension .dat, .csv or .iif will be added automatically according to the file type. When exporting a time period, the starting and ending dates are appended to the file name, unless you specified an extension explicitly.

If you specified a directory in the settings, then the file will be created in this directory on the SD card. If the file name starts with a slash, it will be created in the root directory of the SD card.

Storage

Only for DAT backup files you may select internal memory instead of the SD card for storage of the file. Internal memory is only useful if you wish to temporarily backup the data without having an SD card available.

Employee

For the QB Timer Activites file you must select an employee name from the list that was previously imported with the QB Timer Lists file. If this list is empty, you have not yet imported this file.

Client

You may select a specific client if you want to export the data just for this client. By default all clients will be included (for QuickBooks only the clients marked by #QB# in the notes field).

From/To Date

The To Date ist preset with the date of the most recent time item. The From Date is set to the first day of the same month. With the Equal button you may set the From Date to the same day as the To Date, if you wish to export just one day.

Send by Email

If you check this, the file created on the SD card will be sent by Email to an address that you will have to enter in the Email program that will be opened.

Character Set

By default the character set UTF-8 is used for encoding the character data. It can be used for 7-Bit US-ASCII characters, but for 8-Bit Western European characters on Windows systems you should select ISO-8859-1.

Include Date/Time in Note

For the QB Timer Activites file the dates/times can be inserted in the note field (default not).

Date Format

For the QB Timer Activites file you may have to select the date format to be used, if it does not conform to US standard MMDDYY.
